10th Aerospace SOS Meeting with Satellite Core Component Developers Held

Hit535 Date2026-08-28

– Discussed Ways to Strengthen the Satellite Industry Ecosystem,Including Component Localization and In-Orbit Demonstration

The Korea AeroSpace Administration (KASA, Administrator Taeseog Oh) visited TelePIX, located in Daejeon, on Thursday, August 27 to hold the 10th Aerospace SOS (“Speedy, On-Site”) Consultative Meeting with Korean startups and small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) developing core satellite components. A total of 10 companys – Green Optics, Nara Space, LeO Space, Soletop, MID, InSpace, Justek, KAIROSPACE, Cosmo bee, and TelePIX – participated.

The meeting was organized to hear firsthand the challenges faced by Korean core satellite components developers amid the growth of the global space market and the emergence of the private sector-led New Space era, and to explore effective support measures spanning the entire commercialization process, from the development of localized technologies to in-orbit demonstration.

Representatives from SMEs and startups across various fields, including satellite platforms, payloads, components and materials, and ground systems, attended the meeting and discussed a wide range of challenges encountered throughout the corporate growth process, including research and development, in-orbit demonstration, and commercialization, as well as the need for policy support. The participating companies highlighted challenges and called for effective support in areas including development and advancement of core component technologies, space environment testing and certification, in-orbit demonstration through actual satellite deployment and securing space heritage (proven track records of successful operation in space environments), cooperation with prime contractors (system integration companies) and entry into supply chains, and securing early-stage markets and expanding sales channels.

KASA Administrator Taeseog Oh emphasized that “the competitiveness of the space industry is determined not only by the capabilities of satellite platforms but also by the technological strength of the core components that support satellite performance.” He added, “We plan to strengthen our support system so that advanced technologies developed by Korean companies can be validated in actual space environments and connected to market opportunities.”
