The "New Space Investment Support" is the government fund launched in 2023 to invest in private SMEs and venture companies (startups) in the space sector, funded through the Science and Technology Promotion Fund. The fund will primarily target SMEs and venture companies in the space industry and space cluster resident companies, and will be operated in line with its goal of fostering space industry-related businesses. Additionally, starting this year, SMEs in Korea that have expanded overseas has been added as main investment targets, broadening the scope to include all companies related to the space industry.
Considering the long-term technological development required in the space sector, the investment period is set for 5 years, with a 5-year recovery period. Additionally, various incentives will be provided if 2 or more jobs are created per 100 million KRW of invested capital.

Major countries around the world are increasing support for the space industry, which requires long-term investments, through dedicated funds. KASA plans to establish a total fund of 100 billion KRW over the next five years through continued investments until 2027, and will use this as a successful catalyst to activate private investments in the space industry.
